- What is the purpose of this site?
This site was made for DJ's around the world to obtain the Beats Per Minute of songs. Imagine needing to organize 200 of your records
by Beats Per Minute one by one. To save yourself from hours of beat counting, you can just log on to BPMDatabase.com and obtain the
BPM of music profiles we have. Just don't forget to submit music profiles that we do not yet have. =)
- How can I help?
If you have records with the BPM labeled on them, please help submit profiles we do not already have. If you find this site useful, let
all your fellow DJ friends know about us as well.
- How do I find the Beats Per Minute of a song?
There are hardware and software beat counters you can use to find the Beats Per Minute of a song. If you do not want to spend any money on a hardware
beat counter, there are software beat counters you can download for free. The following links have more information on beat counters
and include software beat counters you can download for free:

- Why can't I search by Genre?
Many of our profiles that were submitted by contributors did not include the Genre field. This would result in users
getting poor search results. We are currently looking for music fans who can help us categorize some of the profiles we have.
If you would like to help, please contact us and let us know which Genre you feel you have expertise in.
- Why can't I specify decimals in the BPM field? Doesn't that mean that some of the information on your site is inaccurate?
Our database was created with the help of users like you around the world. Because we do not obtain our information from the artist's record label,
users who count BPM's with beat counters may not be able to obtain the BPM to the tenths decimal place accuracy. For example, if a submitter obtains 120.4 BPM
for a song but another submitter obtains 120.1 for the same song, there could be a debate on which one is more accurate. To make things easier, we
recommend the BPM be rounded to 120 BPM instead.
